Micromar was born from the encounter between a passion for functional neurosurgery and the desire to transform ideas into concrete solutions. It all began in the 1970s in Argentina, when our founder Antonio Martos, driven by curiosity and engineering, accepted the challenge of developing an innovative stereotactic system in partnership with Dr. Jorge Schvarcz.
The success of the first procedure performed with the equipment marked the beginning of a journey that would unite technology and medicine to relieve the suffering of thousands of people and make something—until then so distant in Latin America—viable and accessible.
In 1986, already in Brazil, Micromar was officially founded. In the same year, in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Manoel Jacobsen Teixeira, for the Hospital das Clínicas of USP, we developed the first national stereotactic system, the ETM-01B. Since then, more than 500 systems have been produced, positioning Micromar as a benchmark in the development of high-precision technologies for neurosurgery in Latin America.
